HD HEV imported over 3,000 tons of steel for the 700-ton Goliath crane production project
Over 3,000 tons of steel plates were successfully received by Production Support Part 1 on June 14, 2026. This is the core raw material for producing the 700-ton Goliath gantry crane project for the company’s internal investment. The shipment included many large steel plates. The largest plate weighs around 19 tons, is up to 16cm thick, 3.45m long, and 2m wide.
The successful material receipt marks an important first step for the project. According to the plan, the MHS shop will manufacture the project in about 7 months, start on July 1, 2026, and finish on January 24, 2027.
The 700-ton Goliath is a specialized gantry crane line. The equipment has impressive technical specs with the overall height of nearly 90 meters (equal to a 25-story building). Its rail span is up to 140 meters. The entire steel structure and machinery of the crane weigh 3,100 tons. The hoisting system includes an upper trolley with a 700-ton capacity to a height of 62 meters, and a lower trolley with a 500-ton capacity.
In heavy industry, the Goliath crane serve as the "backbone" at large-scale shipyards. This specialized oversized equipment is dedicated to lifting, moving, and assembling marine structures, hull blocks, or large tanks.

By self-investing and manufacturing the Goliath crane, HD Hyundai Eco Vina not only confirms its technological autonomy but also optimizes its infrastructure capacity. This prepares the company for large-scale marine equipment and steel structure projects in the future.
