HD Hyundai Chairman Chung Ki-sun visited the Vietnam plant to personally inspect production status and safety management systems. This move expands the on-site management he has maintained since taking office to overseas sites, once again emphasizing productivity, safety, and communication with the field.

HD Hyundai announced on the 26th that Chairman Chung visited HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding and HD Hyundai Eco Vina on the 24th and 25th to inspect factory equipment and safety facilities and encourage employees. This marks his fifth site visit since assuming the chairmanship last October. Prior to this, Chairman Chung has been conducting on-site inspections at domestic facilities in Eumseong, Cheongju, and Ulsan, as well as overseas sites such as HD Hyundai Philippines Shipbuilding.

Chairman Chung visited HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding, located in Khanh Hoa Province in central-southern Vietnam, on the 24th. At the site, he toured the yard where petrochemical product carriers (PC vessels) are being built and inspected the progress of the construction process. During the visit, he checked the compliance rate with the schedule and identified any difficulties in the work process, while also urging that every effort be made to ensure safety management within the workplace.

Subsequently, on the 25th, he visited HD Hyundai Eco Vina, located about 120 km south of Da Nang in central Vietnam. HD Hyundai Eco Vina is a site that HD Hyundai is developing as a production base for eco-friendly independent tanks and a hub for its port crane business in Asia.

This visit is particularly significant as it marks Chairman Chung’s first visit since HD Hyundai completed its acquisition of HD Hyundai Eco Vina last December. Chairman Chung inspected key facilities, touring the tank manufacturing plant construction site, port cranes, and the LNG module production plant. He verified the status of on-site management by personally examining not only production equipment but also potential safety hazards.

Chairman Chung later had lunch with the dispatched employees and listened to their difficulties on the ground. He offered words of comfort regarding the hardships of working away from home, away from their families, and expressed his gratitude to the employees for their hard work for the company and the workplace.

At the event, Chairman Chung Ki-sun stated, “I believe that the foundation of corporate management is the field, and the solution to every problem lies there.” He added, “I will never forget my gratitude to the field, and whenever I have concerns, I will visit frequently to find solutions together with you.”
